Chalet Sabaroc...
Situated in the Alpine village of La Giettaz, at the foot of the Aravis mountains, Chalet Sabaroc offers breathtaking views over the mountains and the valley from its terrace and outdoor hot tub.
This eco-friendly chalet, built by local craftsmen using traditional materials, is the ideal choice for two or three families, or a group of friends.
Just 300m from the ski bus that runs through the valley, Chalet Sabaroc is 4km from Le Plan in the Portes du Mont-Blanc ski area, which is connected to Combloux and Megève. Two ski passes are available: Portes du Mont-Blanc (100km of slopes) and Évasion Mont-Blanc (400km). And for even more options, the slopes of La Clusaz are only 13km away.
In summer, hiking and cycling are likely to be the highlights of your holiday, whilst Lake Flumet, just a few minutes away, and the water parks in Megève and Combloux offer a chance to cool off.
For your everyday needs, you’ll find a handful of restaurants, shops and bars in La Giettaz (2km) and more options in La Clusaz (8km).
About the property...
The stylish accommodation at Chalet Sabaroc is set over three floors. The entrance is to the first floor - there's access to the large double garage with plenty of room for storing bikes and skis, and a ski room with a heated boot rack. The hall has storage space as well as a toilet.
The first floor is also where you'll find the open plan living, dining and kitchen areas, with large windows and doors on to the spacious terrace which catches the sun on two sides of the chalet. The modern kitchen is well equipped with everything you need to cook up a feast for everyone, a large American-style fridge to keep the drinks cold, and a breakfast bar. Two coffee machines (Nespresso and classic), two raclette and two fondue sets are at your disposal.
The dining table is big enough for everyone to eat together, and after your meal, why not curl up on the cosy sofas to watch a film, enjoy a nightcap in the bar area, or look at the stars from the warmth of the outdoor hot tub?
Four of the five bedrooms are on the garden level, and each has access to a terrace - summer or winter, opening the doors and letting in the mountain air is an invigorating way to start the day! Three of the bedrooms are doubles, and one, a children's room, has bunks and a single bed. There are 2 showers room, a separate toilet and a laundry room on this floor. The fourth bedroom also has an en suite shower room.
The fifth bedroom, a spacious master suite, is on the top floor. As well as its own large bathroom, this luxurious space also has a dressing room and access to a balcony with views that will take your breath away. There's a mezzanine area on this floor which overlooks the living area below.
The three floors are connected by a stylish wood and glass staircase, which enables light to flow between all the floors.
About the area...
Chalet Sabaroc is just 2km from the mountain resort of La Giettaz, on the road leading to La Clusaz.
La Giettaz is a traditional Savoyard village between the Aravis and the Val d’Arly, not far from Megève, Flumet and La Clusaz. Surrounded by mountain pastures and peaks, the village offers a peaceful atmosphere and sweeping views of the mountains. Its traditional centre, small shops and calm, welcoming Alpine setting make it a much-loved destination for families and nature lovers.
In winter, guests staying in the La Giettaz area can access both the Portes du Mont-Blanc ski area – which encompasses Combloux and Megève with 100km of slopes – and the vast Évasion Mont-Blanc ski area, which boasts 400km of slopes. The 130km of slopes at La Clusaz are also close by. Families enjoy the toboggan runs in the Plan area and winter walks in the Aravis mountains.
During the rest of the year, mountain trails lead to the Col des Aravis and the Étale mountain pastures, offering magnificent views of Mont Blanc. Cyclists can follow the iconic routes of the Tour de France. The resort hosts many family-friendly events, whilst Lake Flumet, just a few minutes away, and the water parks in Megève and Combloux offer a chance to cool off.

“Wonderful house and views”
The house and views are wonderful and so was Christine The adjacent pass road can be loud especially on the weekend, but that wouldn't stop us from staying there again. There is a small supermarket & Boulangerie in La Giettaz, which had all essentials and the surrounding towns have bigger supermarkets and some have wonderful farmer markets on certain days of the week.
Thanks for a wonderful stay Christine!!!
“We will return next year”
We spent a wonderful week with family in this magnificent chalet offering splendid 360° views of the surrounding mountains. The SABAROC chalet is a true haven of peace.
The interior is very warm and well-equipped. Great care has been taken with the decoration.
Everything matches the photos.
A big thank you to our host Christine who was wonderful and very welcoming. We will return next year with immense pleasure.
“Charming chalet experience”
Beautiful chalet and great availability of the manager. The only small downside is that the raclette and fondue equipment is not suitable (simple pots to put on the stove for the fondue, which makes cleaning difficult, and the raclette trays are square for an ovoid device).

The OVO Network Review
Chalet Sabaroc is a five-bedroom, three-bathroom chalet for 10 people, with the accommodation set over three floors. It's in a great location for those who like to explore - it's just five minutes from the village of La Giettaz and just 10 minutes from the slopes.
You'll need a car when you stay at Chalet Sabaroc, and if you are visiting in the winter you will need to be equipped with snow chains or tyres, but there's plenty of reason to get out and about. The Col des Aravis is just five minutes drive away, and offers a choice of bars and restaurants as well as hiking and snow-shoe trails and dog sledding! Drive for another five minutes to reach the pistes at La Clusaz - the village is just a little further on.
The chalet enjoys a great location at the foot of the Aravis mountains - it's south facing so the lovely big garden and terrace is a real sun trap.
Inside, the spacious living room with separate seating areas makes it a great place for a group - you'll never be falling over each other! The large windows open on to the furnished terrace, where you can sunbathe, eat al fresco or simply enjoy the sublime view.
Chalet Sabaroc is a great choice for a group - it's a very sociable house, with plenty of room to get together, including the bar area. We think it would be great choice for an extended family reunion - even if that's just a fantastic mountain holiday together!

From the owner
Christine P.
We are very happy to welcome you to Chalet Sabaroc. The chalet is named after a restaurant on a little island in the British Virgin Islands, the Saba Rock, where we had a great time as a family.
We have loved the Aravis region for more than 30 years, and built our chalet in a protected area at the foot of the mountains, with a breathtaking view of the valley.
Chalet Sabaroc was built by local craftsmen using quality traditional materials: larch; old wood and stone from a nearby stream. It is insulated to the latest standards, making it very eco-friendly.
It is our second home, and furnished with care, so we hope you'll feel right at home.
The property is set in a friendly village, surrounded by magnificent Savoyard chalets at the foot of the Aravis mountains and the famous Col des Aravis, which separates Savoie from Haute Savoie. It is at the heart of an area which attracts visitors all year round - they come for the sports, nature, and gastronomy.
You can ski, go snow-shoe walking, dog sledding, biking in summer and winter, via ferrata, canyoning...
The chalet is surrounded by a huge choice of hiking trails, where you will come across marmots, sometimes chamois, and, in season you can collect mushrooms, blueberries and raspberries...
Make yourself at home for a week or more, and we hope that you have a great time!
